The Role of the Maths Lead Teacher

The Maths Lead (usually the mathematics subject leader) is vital in supporting the Learning Partner to successfully deliver the Maths Counts programme. Following training, the Maths Lead will carry out up to seven diagnostic lessons with each learner. The content of these diagnostic lessons has been developed to provide tailored support to address the needs of the individual learner. Through a huge range of downloadable resources, the Learning Partner will be supported to deliver bespoke tuition to each child in a fun and creative way. The Maths Lead will act as a mentor and first point of reference to support the Learning Partner.

 Supporting Documents

We have a range of resources to support Maths Leads with the Maths Counts programme, accessible here via the password you will have been issued in the training period.  If you don’t have your password, please email us and we will send this you once we have verified that you are part of the Maths Counts programme.

Maths Leads will complete training prior to working with learners and Learning Partners, where they will learn how to carry out the diagnostics and use the digital tools tool to support the delivery of the programme in the most effective manner.
